Academic and professional background
Gonzalo Córdova has a well-established academic and professional career in the field of stage design and lighting. His first technical training as an electronic technician provides material support consistent with his later development in technology applied to the scene. He is a Master in Experimental Opera by UNTREF and has an extensive professional career in the main Argentine and international theaters, with collaborations sustained with renowned stage directors. His numerous awards reflect broad recognition of his art.
Experience as a Research Artist
Its practice goes beyond the professional exercise to constitute sustained research on space, light and technique in the scene. The production of essays, publications, management of experimental projects and organization of Latin American congresses show a clear articulation between artistic practice and theoretical reflection. His profile is configured as that of an artist-researcher with the capacity for conceptual systematization and academic projection.
Areas of Expertise
His specialization integrates lighting design, scenography, theory and history of the stage space, technology applied to performing arts and project pedagogy. This articulation between technique, critical thinking and practice experimental corresponds directly with the field of Arts and Techno-aesthetics.
He has been working in lighting and scenography for opera and theatre since the 1990s, collaborating with contemporary directors and choreographers for directors such as Ruben Szuchmacher, María Jaunarena, Ana D’Anna, Diana Theocharidis and André Heller Lopes, in productions both in Europe and in Latin America.

He is starting with a PhD in Arts and Aesthetic Technology. He works as a Professor of the National University of the Arts in the subject of Project design II, in History of Scenic Lighting in the career lighting design for shows, and in Musical Theatre.
